Full Educational Assessments

A full diagnostic assessment can identify dyslexic difficulties and associated learning difficulties. The Assessment Report provides useful teaching and support recommendations for class teachers, specialist teachers and parents.

A Full Assessment is appropriate for students who have not previously been assessed, or for those who require a full update on a previous assessment by an Educational Psychologist or Specialist Teacher.

The assessment will include the following:

  • A review of educational and developmental background information
  • Testing to assess current levels of general ability
  • A series of tests to detail current attainments in literacy and to identify patterns of strengths and weaknesses
  • A comprehensive assessment of cognitive skills including phonological awareness and speed of processing, memory, visual motor integration and visual processing

These assessments are carried out by fully qualified specialist teachers. The assessment takes approximately two hours and the tests used are individually tailored to the needs and age of the student.
